Darryl Eyers is the Director for Economy, Infrastructure and Skills at Staffordshire County Council. This covers: Economic Development, Highways and Infrastructure, Transport, Skills for Employment and Adult & Community Learning, and Minerals Planning and Waste Management.

Darryl is the Immediate Past President of the Association of Directors of Environment, Economy, Planning and Transport (ADEPT). In his year (2019/20) as President he focussed on increasing ADEPTs influence with key decision makers and on making a clearer case for better, long term funding for Local Authorities by bringing together other local government professional associations for Adult’s and Children’s Care and Public Health to speak with one voice.

Prior to his Director role Darryl was the Deputy Director for Place and Head of Economic Planning at Staffordshire County Council. Darryl played a lead role on behalf of the Local Enterprise Partnership in negotiating City and Growth Deals, unlocking over £100m of investment from Central Government.

Darryl joined Staffordshire County Council in 2002 as a Research Officer. Prior to this he worked for the West Midlands Low Pay Unit after graduating from University.

Since joining Staffordshire County Council Darryl has progressed within the organisation covering a number of senior roles including: the Head of Policy and Performance for the whole organisation, and a Business Partner role supporting the Director for People to develop and transform the directorate.
